If suitable we schedule an assessment for the student.

Assessment

An assessment is made in a one-to-one setting to maximise confidentiality and minimise distractions.

A comprehensive and independent report is created describing a student’s current learning profile and provides recommendations.

Not all students require an assessment.

The Lessons

The report pinpoints the specific individual strengths and/or weaknesses of the student. We create a learning plan based on this and the needs of the student.

Lessons are arranged between the parent and teacher to be taken at a suitable time and place for the student.

Our team

We are a friendly team that endeavour to ensure that our students receive the best care and attention. All our SLD Nelson teachers are trained teachers, specialising in the teaching of students with Specific Learning Difficulties. We also have two Registered cognitive and educational assessors.

We tailor one-to-one lessons, with a teaching plan that is specific to the needs of the students as identified in their assessment report.
